Playgrounds offer many benefits for children, as they learn to take responsibility for their own choices; playing allows children to develop a sense of well-being, develop their emotional responses and improve their inter-personal skills. Play involves exploration and creativity, language skills, and problem-solving skills – all this will be essential to grow and succeed in a changing society. In addition, girls and boys as well as children with and without disabilities can play together in a safe and protected environment and learn to respect each other.
The wellbeing of each individual child is at the centre of attention for Play Matters. Safety is ensured throughout the process of development and construction, following the EN1176 European Safety Standards. Specific needs, age, and interests are taken into consideration as well.
Play Matters uses mostly locally available and natural materials, as this increases not only sustainability and environmental protection, but also enhances the appreciation and cultural identity of children in urban areas, often detached from the nature that surrounds the city. We aim to create a holistic, engaging and fun experience for children of different ages and needs.
